Zakat

Free primary care with teaching and trust

Zakat through Worry Free Community supports neighbors who are struggling to meet basic needs like healthcare, food, and housing. Your giving follows clear religious guidance while responding directly to hardship in our communities.

Support rooted in faith and equity

Helping households under the poverty line

The Zakat program focuses on individuals and families living below the federal poverty level who face serious barriers to healthcare, nutrition, and safe living conditions. Many are new immigrants, asylum seekers, or workers whose income does not cover essential expenses. Zakat funds help cover urgent needs such as medical care, medications, food, and stability-focused support. By giving here, you are joining a long tradition of lifting hardship for those with the fewest options.

How the Zakat program is managed

Collection, distribution, and oversight

Zakat is collected into a dedicated account that is completely separate from all other funds. One hundred percent of these funds are distributed based on the principle of Tamleek to eligible recipients, with no administrative or program delivery costs taken out. Oversight from trusted scholars helps ensure that distributions follow religious guidance. Costs related to administering Zakat are covered by other donation categories, so your Zakat gift is used only for those who qualify.

Accountability and giving options

Clear reporting and focused goals

Worry Free Community tracks Zakat distributions and shares annual reports so donors can see how funds are used. Current goals are set to meet rising needs among families who often earn between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars a month.

  • Separate Zakat account with no commingling.
  • Distributions focused on eligible immigrants and citizens in deep need.
  • Administrative costs covered by Sadaqah and general donations.

Why your Zakat matters now

Meeting rising needs with dignity

Many families in our community live with constant worries about rent, medication, and food, especially those who have recently arrived or lost their source of income. Zakat allows them to breathe a little easier while they work to stabilize their lives. For new immigrants and asylum seekers, this support can be the difference between slipping deeper into crisis and finding a sustainable path forward. Your Zakat through Worry Free Community turns faith into concrete relief for people who are often overlooked by other systems.

Zakat giving goals

Our long term hope is to keep every eligible family from facing serious gaps in healthcare, nutrition, and basic living needs.

In 2026, we are working toward raising $90,000 in Zakat to support immigrants, asylum seekers, and low income households across our community.
